Max Borders and I discuss the nature of charity, how he's using technology to create the voluntary social safety net of the future and viable voluntary options for creating alternatives to coercive institutions.
Max is a former editor at The Foundation For Economic Education, the author of "The Social SIngularity" and the Executive Director of Social Evolution.
We discuss his work using technology to create voluntary social safety nets known as Mutual Aide or Mutual Benefit Societies, the long and fascinating history of the social safety net before the Welfare State and how those who want to live in a free society can and should help those who are in need.
I highly recommend Max's Book "The Social Singularity" where he goes in depth with many of the subjects we cover. This episode is a little on the technical side but these discussions I believe are important becuse cryptocurrencies, tokens, DOA's, and other blockchain based technologies have the power to help create more freedom and less suffering for us all.
